VAN NGUYEN

The principal of practice – Van Nguyen is highly qualified in teaching Pilates.

She holds her Level III certificates in both Refomer and Matwork Pilates. Combined with her extensive years of teaching, she provides both one on one and group based Essential Pilates exercise solutions. Van combines her daily physiotherapy skills with her knowledge and expertise in Pilates to design programs specific to individuals, including for rehabilitation purposes after injury, general spinal and joint related aches and pains, pre, during and post pregnancy and more. Van directs most of her Pilates knowledge to develop sports-specific training using the Pilates Method, as well as managing and preventing spinal related pains and injuries including postural dysfunctions.

Kevin is a Level II accredited Reformer Pilates instructor. He integrates his expansive Physiotherapy-based exercise knowledge with his Clinical Pilates training to develop individualised and targeted Pilates programs to suit all individuals. He enjoys challenging his clients within their individual ability and in particular, address joint mobility and trunk stability imbalances in males. Kevin also utilises Clinical Pilates repertoire to address sub-acute low back and neck pain.

LEVEL I ACCREDITED EQUIPMENT & MATWORK PILATES INSTRUCTOR &
PILATES ADMINISTRATOR

Emma brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of Pilates. A long-standing Clinical Pilates participant, Emma fell in love with the repertoire and commenced the journey towards becoming an accredited instructor. After completing her anatomy basics and Matwork Pilates accreditation in 2015, she went on to add equipment Clinical Pilates instruction to her resume. Emma can be found in the Pilates studio when she’s not busy at our front desk, either instructing, participating in a class, or putting together individualised programs for our clients. Emma has a key interest in our sporting athletes and in particular, the advanced end of Pilates. She enjoys challenging our clients to their full potential, with precision technique. Emma is now working towards her Diploma of Pilates Instruction – the highest level of available Pilates instruction accreditation.

samSAMANTHA (SAM) GARRIDO –
LEVEL I ACCREDITED EQUIPMENT & MATWORK PILATES INSTRUCTOR
& STUDENT PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Sam is almost complete her undergraduate studies as a Physiotherapist. She developed a keen interest in Pilates after she was exposed to our studio whilst working as a receptionist, and commenced her journey towards instructor accreditation. Her inquisitive mind enjoys the ability of Pilates to assist with changing movement patterns of people, in order to achieve more efficient movement and in particular, address pain disorders. She has first-hand seen Pilates change the lifestyle of her mum, whom was a regular sufferer of non specific low back pain and cervicogenic headaches. Sam has watched and learnt how her mum has transformed through Physio Essentials Pilates Method, by adopting pain free movement patterns, with significant improvements in quality of life. Sam aims to work alongside all our clients, to provide as many people as possible, the same positive changes she has seen her mum go through.

GEMMA KIM
COMMENCED EQUIPMENT PILATES INSTRUCTOR ACCREDITATION
& PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Gemma was drawn to the concept of Clinical Pilates as an effective method for postural corrections, empowering clients to be able to improve their self awareness, and therefore affect change to movement dysfunctions that were affecting one’s daily life. She has commenced her instructor training, and whilst still on the quiet side, is finding her niche in the Pilates domain. Gemma has a key interest in our clients who are looking for a progressive and safe exposure to movement in order to address chronic pains and dysfunctions which perhaps have been affecting their quality of life. She enjoys problem solving root causes of pain and discomfort, and combining her background in movement therapy and Physiotherapy with Clinical Pilates to develop individualised Pilates programs for each of her clients, and delivering them in an approachable and effective manner.
